Sermon Illustrations: Mediocrity

Ten men and one woman were hanging off a rope under a helicopter. Since the rope wasn't strong enough to carry them all, they decided someone had to leave. But they weren't able to decide who should go. Finally, with great emotion, the woman said that she would let go voluntarily as she had always given up everything for her husband, her sons, and men in general. Sacrificing for men had been her way of life. The men were so moved with her speech that as soon as she had finished they all started clapping.
