It tells us in Job 1, that there was a day when the sons of God presented themselves before the Lord, and Satan came with them. And God pointed out that Job was a really good man. Satan said, "But you've put a hedge of protection around him, blessed everything he's ever done. But he's not that good. You let me take away what he's got, and he'll curse You to Your face!" A similar thing happened in chapter 2. Both times Satan responded with accusations against Job. That's what Satan does - he's the accuser of the brethren.
