Sermon Illustrations: Knowledge

Abraham didn't have a Bible, but he knew God.

Knowledge of God - Dan 11:32: but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Know - same word "yawdah" used in Genesis 4:1 "Now Adam knew Eve his wife". It's an intimate knowledge. I know theoretically how an engine works. The fuel gets fed into the cylinder, there's a spark, the fuel ignites and the piston moves up and down. But there's a big difference between that and knowing how to take that same engine apart and put it back together again.
