Abraham didn't have a Bible, but he knew God

Knowledge of God - Dan 11:32 … but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Know - same word "yawdah" used in Genesis 4:1 "Now Adam knew Eve his wife". It's an intimate knowledge. I know theoretically how an engine works. The fuel gets fed into the cylinder, there's a spark, the fuel ignites and the piston moves up and down. But there's a big difference between that and knowing how to take that same engine apart and put it back together again.

On June 19, 1865, over 2 years after President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation, General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas, and read General Order Number 3: "The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free." For the first time, slaves in Texas learned that they were already free. Some were shocked; many others celebrated. June 19 soon became known as "Juneteenth". Our Daily Bread 19th June, 2008
